We’re thrilled to announce our recent collaboration with ICON4x4, the company behind some of the most incredible vintage 4×4 restorations on the market. Lead designer and CEO Jonathan Ward is known in the vintage 4×4 and classic car community as a master designer and skilled craftsman. Like all of ICON‘s builds, this Bronco exemplifies a vintage style with modern touches underneath. We originally approached Jonathan with the proposal of using our rugs as carpeting in one of his builds; as fate would have it, he was in the process of building a 1969 Bronco with a weathered turquoise patina and was looking to add a few signature touches. Jonathan’s team created a precision CAD template that could be used to overlay onto several rugs to capture the thunderbird patterns that adorned them. All in all, it took 5 rugs to outfit the vehicle. Working carefully, Tim Jones of Emery Park Carpets meticulously cut and finished each piece by hand to ensure a perfect fit. The Bronco itself rides on a completely rebuilt coilover suspension, with modern power and fuel injection under the hood courtesy of a new 5.0-liter Coyote V8 Mustang engine and an automatic transmission from Gearstar. Other modern amenities include an Atlas II twin-stick transfer case, Curry Industries axles, a truly modern coilover suspension replacing the outdated leaf springs, Brembo brakes, ARB locking differential, a full stainless steel exhaust system, Dynamat sound deadening, air conditioning, power steering, and hand-dyed heated leather seats. And, of course, custom American Dakota thunderbird carpeting.
The finished ride is titled ICON Bronco #104. Of all the Broncos we could have outfitted, the turquoise hues on this one made it the perfect fit. We just watched your video on a Bronco you built that has these rugs in them. My husband and son are rebuilding a bronco and love these rugs! I am looking for pricing and colors of the rugs designed for the Bronco. Our Bronco is a 1976 and will be Boxwood Green.
HI there, if you provide a paper template we can have your flooring made for you. Pick out a design from our website. Note most rugs come in 6 sizes. For 2 front mats and a middle strip … (in front of the back seat) that can be cut from an 8×11. Send us a picture of your paper template and we’ll work on a price for you. I like Rustic Cross- chablis for a boxwood Bronco.
I love the rust and disstressed marks on the vehicle gives it more character!!
It’s the best formula. Clean and up to date inside and underneath. But, keep the patina. It doesn’t hurt that the original color is TURQUOISE!!! #LOVE Thanks for checking us out
