Tyler Glasses
Tyler Glasses, from Rock Point Arizona is from the Dine’ tribe. Tyler is a blue-ribbon weaver, photographer, family-first kind of guy and positive soul in his community. Tyler made a big splash at the Santa Fe Indian Market when his intricate poncho weaving, Poncho for Days, won Best of Class for textiles. The judges were in awe of the design and stitch count in this epic, fine, churro-wool weaving. Tyler says while weaving he often hears his grandmother’s words, “Weave when you have good thoughts, because those thoughts go into your weaving. And it will bless the person who gets it.” American Dakota commented that Tyler was the ideal weaver to partner with based on his graphic designs and the positivity he was projecting to his followers. “We were able to capture in EnduraStran Nylon the saturated blues and bright reds from Tyler’s hand-woven saddle blankets”, states American Dakota. Both Tyler and his sister Naiomi call the machine-made versions of their designs, mill-made floor rugs. These more-affordable rug versions are being offered in six sizes and being sold at www.naiomiglasses.net . The rugs are made-to-order in Georgia. American Dakota and Tyler have plans to create more mill-made rugs in the coming months, so stay tuned.
